The German International University (GIU) in Cairo is seeking a highly motivated and skilled research assistant to join our team for an international research project focused on electric machine design for electrified transportation systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technology in collaboration with researchers from around the world. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of electric machines, with a focus on the application of advanced/additive manufacturing to permanent magnet synchronous motors.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design, analysis, and optimization of electric machines.
• Conduct electromagnetic finite element simulations to evaluate the performance of electric machines.
• Perform thermal and mechanical analysis for high power density electric motors.
• Collaborate with project partners on various stages of the research project.
• Participate in the preparation and publication of research papers, technical reports, and conference presentations.
• Participate in regular project meetings, both locally and internationally, to report on research progress.

Qualifications:
• A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Strong academic background in electric machines, power electronics, or control systems.
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and multi-physics simulations.
• Experience in experimental setups and instrumentation for electric machine testing.
• Good understanding of applied electromagnetics in relation to electric machine design.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
