GIU policy is to build on the points of strength in students. This will be reflected in the evaluation process of applicants in which the admission decision is based on selection of applicants with highest potentiality and outstanding academic performance.

REQUIREMENTS & CREDENTIALS


The German International University offers German Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees and applies rules and regulations of university Admission in Germany (“Hochschulzugangsberechtigung”) Students are requested to present a high school certificate from a secondary school that is accepted as “allgemeine Hochschulreife (Abitur)” “fachgebundene Hochschulreife (fachgebundenes Abitur)” or an Equivalent certificate. For equivalent high school certificates please check the German ANABIN Portal (Database for the recognition and evaluation of foreign educational certificates in Germany (https://www.anerkennung-in-deutschland.de/html/de/). In case of not fulfilling Admission requirements as requested in Germany (“Hochschulzugangsberechtigung”), students will follow the Admission requirements to study Foundation semester(s)/courses offered in coordination with the German University in Cairo – GUC.

To be considered for admission to the Master of Science programs with a specialty or subspecialty, you need to meet the following requirements:

  1. Completion of a relevant undergraduate program or closely related fields from a nationally or internationally accredited university with a grade point average(GPA) of at least 3 in the German system.This corresponds to having accumulated 180 to 240 ECTS points.These points are equivalent to 108 to 144 Credit Hours in other academic systems.
  2. Successful completion of the GIU admission tests.However, if you are a graduate of GIU, you are exempted from taking these tests.
  3. You must either hold Egyptian nationality or have a valid residency in Egypt.

These requirements are important for ensuring that applicants have the necessary academic background and qualifications to pursue the Master of Science programs.

PROCEDURES


1. ONLINE APPLICATION

  • If you are a GIU graduate login using your credentials through this link
  • Fill in the application form using your username and password

2. PRE-SCREENING OF APPLICANTS

An Admission committee from each faculty will be responsible to

  • Check his/her eligibility for the master degree
  • Recommend the courses that he/she should study to fulfill the master program requirements

3. NEXT STEPS

  • Eligible candidates will be Invited for English admission test
  • Candidates who pass the English test will be invited to personal interview
  • Candidates who pass will receive conditional acceptance including documents to be submitted and payment procedures
  • Candidates who pass the English test will receive conditional acceptance including documents to be submitted and payment procedures.
  • The applicant is to submit the documents and pay the fees within the deadline otherwise registration will not be considered.
